We’ve added ipads on mobile stands with goosenecks to better facilitate Remote Learning in the classroom. These can pair with the AppleTVs in the classroom for an enhanced experience.

PICK UP THE IPAD

The iPads for Industrial Design are located in two of the locked cabinets near the windows in BOO-4600. They are located specifically in the 4th and 5th cabinets from the left (currently labeled Idea Lab and Study Abroad, we’ll be relabeling them soon). If you cannot find them, please ask Fabiano for assistance.

1. Punch in the code to unlock the locker.*

2. Unplug the iPad from the charger (This can remain in the locker)

3. Pull out the unit and extend to full height using the black adjustment knob.

*Please contact Fabiano, Will, or CADTech for the code. You must punch in this sequence again to relock the locker!

CONNECT TO THE APPLE TV

1. Turn on the TV with the remote.

2. Make sure input is set to HDMI 2.

3. Wake up the iPad by pressing the single button on the top edge of the device. it should already be connected to the RIT network.

4. On the iPad, swipe down from the top-right side to get the Control Center and tap on Screen Mirroring.

1. Select your room and tap on the name:

- boo-4600-atv
or
- boo-4620-atv

1. This will wake up the AppleTV (which is set in Conference Room mode), and a 4 digit code will show up on the TV. Enter this Aiplay Code and tap OK.
   

   

NOTE: There will be a slight delay as the iPad syncs with the TV!! Please give it a moment to sync up!

1. Your iPad is now mirrored to the TV.

You can also do this process with any AirPlay enabled device.  (Apple laptops, phones, etc).

CONNECTING TO A ZOOM MEETING ON THE IPAD

1. Launch Zoom (icon in the dock).

2. Tap Join a meeting and enter your active Meeting ID info.

1. Tap Join with Video.

1. Tap Call Using Internet Audio to enable audio on the iPad.

1. Tap Switch Camera to swap from the front facing to the back facing camera depending on your needs.

2. Use for the duration of your class, and please make sure you end the meeting connection when you are done.

* You do not need to log in with your ID if you connect with a Meeting ID.

PUT BACK THE IPAD AT THE END OF CLASS

1. Discconnect from Airplay

   1. On the iPad, swipe down from the top-right side to get the Control Center.

   2. Tap Stop Mirroring.

2. Return the iPad and stand to the locker

   1. Collapse the stand verticallly

   2. Bend the gooseneck over to fit.

   3. Plug the iPad back into the USB-C cable to charge

3. Close the door and Punch in the code to lock the locker.*
