What is changing?
CAD will be rolling out changes to how Students, Faculty and Staff login to macOS device (Lab-Based and CAD-Issued).
Why the change?
This change is happening to provide increased security to CAD end users.
How often will I have to sign in like this?
All users will go through the JAMF prompt every time they log in on a CAD-managed Mac lab computer (See preview below).
Faculty/Staff will go through the JAMF prompt followed by a 2FA (Duo) prompt every time* they log in on a CAD-managed Mac faculty computer ONLY.
Once installed on their CAD-issued devices, Faculty/Staff will see this login screen after a reboot/restart*.
*Faculty/Staff will NOT have to do a 2FA login if you are just waking up your computer from sleep mode.
Timeline:
The new login screen will be available beginning Spring semester 2023
Faculty and staff devices will be moved to the new login method during their next visit with the CADTech staff during Spring semester.
If you would like to switch sooner, please submit a ticket to schedule a time.
