Congratulations and Welcome to the School of Design

Welcome to the School of Design! We are excited to welcome you into our School in August. Your first-year courses will include courses in Foundations, Art History, and program-specific offerings, all to provide you with a strong base for your career preparation and success. The Foundations courses have standardized materials (art kits), most of which you will continue using during your time at RIT. The courses have course fees assigned to them which are used to purchase supplies needed for these courses, at a greatly reduced cost. 

In addition to the FDTN supplies that you will receive, we strongly recommend that you purchase the supplies below. They will help you to capture your ideas and designs!

• Sketchbook (any size)

• Pencils and pens for writing/sketching

• USB drive (128GB minimum, with USB-A and USB-C connectors)
