WORK AVAILABILITY FORM DIRECTIONS:

1) Download the form to your computer.

2) Fill out the form using Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro.

3) Make sure you update the following:

  • Update the Semester at the top left of the page (ex: Spring 2026, Summer 2026, Fall 2026, etc.)

  • Your Full Name and Number of hours you’d like to work (we’ll work to get as close as we can with given availability.)

  • Any notes in the notes section about your availability

  • Expected Quarter of Graduation at the bottom of the form

  • Click on each hours box to turn it green to indicate that you are available during that hour.
    (ex: Clicking on the 12:00pm box on Monday means you are available to work from 12-1pm on Mondays)

4) PLEASE make sure you only indicate hours you are WILLING AND AVAILABLE to work!!

We are currently scheduling during the following hours ONLY:

  • Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 10pm

  • Friday: 7:30am - 6pm

  • Saturday: 9am - 3pm

We are also asking that everyone indicates at least one morning or Saturday shift of availability. You may not be scheduled for it, but it helps ensure that no one person has to work every single morning shift.

JOB DESCRIPTION: CAD OPERATIONS IT LAB ASSISTANT


Position Summary:

Provide Tier-0 (first responder) support for state-of-the-art computer environments for diverse academic and research labs within the College of Art and Design.

Wage: Starts at $16.00/hour

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for maintaining operational status of computer lab and related facilities within the College of Art and Design.

  • Support tasks include management of printers/print queues, output devices, cage equipment, general maintenance, basic physical and IT troubleshooting and problem-solving, and customer service for students/staff/faculty.

  • Work with students, faculty, and staff. 

  • Operate/maintain printers, print queues, maintain equipment/checkout cage.

  • Maintain appearance of lab facilities.Facilities supported cover all 5 floors of the CAD building as well as select labs in the MAGIC Center. 

  • Walking/lifting is required, but elevators are available for all floors.

Non-Essential Functions: Other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud software, Microsoft Office Suite Products. 

  • Basic computer troubleshooting skill and general problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to think independently.

  • Good interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with students, faculty, staff, and coworkers. 

  • Good communication skills as must.


SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Previous customer service experience a plus. 

  • Familiarity with output devices, image capture devices, scanners, and other peripherals.. 

  • Ability to independently conduct lab operations and tasks with minimal supervision. 

  • Higher level computer/IT experience.

We are looking for self-motivated, self-directed students who are interested in excelling in a challenging, ever-changing environment. Must be willing and able to learn new skills and troubleshoot and use available resources to solve problems on the fly.
